Chinese date (Ziziphus jujuba) has a history of use in Eastern medicine dating back over two thousand years. In the ancient Chinese treatise "Shennong Bencao Jing," it was mentioned as a means of strengthening vital energy (qi), restoring strength, and relieving anxiety.
